Outdoor Amateur Radio Forum

Outdoor amateur radio is very versatile and a lot of fun. The transceivers are usually tiny, the antennas simple but highly efficient and the backpack ultra-light. There are numerous xOTA (x-any On The Air) outdoor amateur radio award programs that you can participate in with little effort and receive a nice award, whether as an activator, hunter, or both. You can walk, cycle or take the bus from your home to your nearest xOTA reference and experience amateur radio outdoors. Each activation is a micro-adventure, where a mini pile-up is inevitable, even with QRP!
